Click here to get your Tracking tool (Clickmagick): I use this tool to track and ptimize all my marketing campaigns. I highly recommend you to do the same. That way you will reduce your chances of getting losing campaigns. We don’t want to lose mmoney, our objective is totally the contrary. Go to Clickmagick.com to get your account. You get a 14 day free trial and then the basic account starts at $12 a month.
If you have a tool you are comfortable with, by all means use it. There are a few unique metrics you want to keep a close eye on, especially when you are renting a list as opposed to buying clicks.
This is where stats from past campaigns come into play. In addition to keeping track of the campaign’s ROI you will want to know how previous campaigns performed compared to others. In a sense you will be performing a reverse engeneering operation to get more data.
Sometimes, it’s just a combination of things but most likely a bad campaign may be the result of a bad offer. Make a chart with relevant information.
I keep track of the following…
Sends: If you are renting a list this gives a better idea of how much it costs.
Opens: The number of people who opened the email. This gives you a better understanding of how strong your subject line is.
Clicks: Percentage of people who clicked the link in your email copy. This indicates how compeling the content and the call to action is.
Complaints/Unsubscribes: I celebrate unsubscribes. In a sense i’m actively getting rid of people who are not interested in what I have to share with them.
